Softball Recap: Rocky Hill Takes a Loss

Rocky Hill had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 10-6 to make it four. They lost 9-1 to the Berlin Redcoats. The Terriers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Redcoats from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Rocky Hill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Incarvito, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Berlin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Berlin, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

On Berlin's side, Callie Jehning spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. Jehning has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Julia Matan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Izzy Andersen, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Rocky Hill has already played their next contest, a 15-1 victory against New Britain on the 19th. As for Berlin, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-2 win against Maloney on the 19th.
