Volleyball Recap: Elkin Takes a Loss

Elkin was the 3-2 winner over West Wilkes when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Buckin' Elks fell 3-1 to the Blackhawks on Thursday. The Buckin' Elks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Elkin started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-32, 25-15, 25-19, 25-20.

Elkin's record is now 7-13. As for West Wilkes, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Elkin is set to challenge their familiar foe East Wilkes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Wilkes will face off against rival Ashe County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
