Ezekiel Academy dropped their record down to 30-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Evangel Christian Lightning by a score of 4-3. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lightning earlier this season, when they won 8-3.

Sarah Vick put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 7.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Vick wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Baylee Horn, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Evangel Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-10. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games.

On Evangel Christian's side, Ella Ruth Smith spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Makayla Cranford, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Lilli Whitfield was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Ezekiel Academy has already played their next matchup (against Southern Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Evangel Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
