Basketball Recap: Jarrell Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jarrell can now relate to. They took a hard 58-43 fall against the Bridge City Cardinals on Tuesday.

Jarrell's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aniya Taylor, who posted 16 points and six rebounds, and Erica Taylor, who scored 16 points and four steals. The match was Aniya's 21st in a row with at least 16 points. Lamyre' Fitch was another key player, putting up five points.

Bridge City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaylee Britten out in front who put up nine points and four steals. Britten is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Whitney Cunningham, who had eight points and seven boards.

Jarrell's defeat dropped their record down to 30-7. As for Bridge City, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 34-3.

Jarrell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bridge City, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hamshire-Fannett at 7:00 p.m. Bridge City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season.
