Softball Recap: Pamlico County Snags 11th Win in Last 14 Games

Pamlico County posted their closest victory since April 29, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Richmond Raiders, sneaking past 4-2.

The team relied heavily on Peyton Robinson, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taylor McHenry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Pamlico County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Pamlico County has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Richmond, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14.

Pamlico County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-1 loss against Perquimans on the 19th. As for Richmond, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-3 defeat against Northside - Pinetown on the 19th.
