Softball Recap: Abbeville Comes Up Short

Abbeville lost against Lake Arthur back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Abbeville Wildcats lost 18-5 to the Lake Arthur Tigers. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Abbeville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lake Arthur, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5.

Looking ahead, Abbeville will be playing in front of their home fans against Port Barre at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Abbeville has given up an average of 12.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Lake Arthur, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lake Arthur Tigers face off against Starks Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. They are strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
