Basketball Recap: Troy Comes Up Short

Troy lost against Sunny Hills last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Troy Warriors fell 56-48 to the Sunny Hills Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 841st, while the Lancers are ranked 296th).

Sunny Hills' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ze'Brien Watkins, who posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamron Tonga, who went 7 of 12 en route to 16 points and three blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Troy and nudges their season record down to 5-15. As for Sunny Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Troy will venture away from home to challenge El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sunny Hills, they will host El Modena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
