Football Game Preview: Hackett Hornets vs. Booneville Bearcats

Hackett is 0-5 against Booneville since November of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Hornets will square off against the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. Hackett has given up an average of 25.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hackett is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Mansfield on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Hornets took a blow against the Tigers, falling 52-6. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-6.

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Booneville, as they earned their first away win of the season. They breezed past Cedarville to the tune of 66-21 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won six in a row.

The win got Booneville back to even at 2-2. As for Hackett, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Hackett took a serious blow against Booneville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 42-6. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
