Flag Football Recap: Mesa Takes a Loss

Mesa played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Gilbert Tigers, falling 27-7. The Jackrabbits have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gilbert was led to victory by Jaylin Guerrero and Lilah Barton. Guerrero rushed for 45 yards and one score, while Barton rushed for 34 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Barton has posted since back in November of 2024.

Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Gilbert, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Mesa will take on Vista Grande in a tournament on Saturday. As for Gilbert, they will host Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
