Baseball Game Preview: DeSoto Thunderbirds vs. West Memphis Christian Black Knights

For the first time this season, DeSoto will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing at home against the West Memphis Christian Black Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. DeSoto hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

DeSoto fell victim to Nettleton and their airtight pitching crew last Wednesday. They lost 8-0 to the Raiders. That's two games in a row now that the Thunderbirds have lost by exactly eight runs.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, West Memphis Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They came up short against Independence, falling 10-1. The game marked the Black Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

DeSoto's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for West Memphis Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

DeSoto came out on top in a nail-biter against West Memphis Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2018, sneaking past 5-4. Will DeSoto repeat their success, or does West Memphis Christian has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
