Basketball Recap: Crawford County Eagles vs. Peach County Trojans
Crawford County kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Peach County Trojans and fell 77-28. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Peach County was led to victory by Jamar Johnson and Christian Askew. Johnson went 8-for-16 to rack up 22 points along with five boards and three steals, while Askew shot 56% from the field en route to 18 points in addition to seven blocks and six rebounds. Those 22 points gave Johnson a new career-high. Rowan Woodrich was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven boards and four steals.
Looking ahead, Crawford County is taking a road trip to face off against Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Peach County, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Veterans at 7:30 p.m. on the 18th.
