Baseball Recap: Muskogee Starts off Right with Win over Fort Gibson

Muskogee gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Fort Gibson Tigers with a sharp 10-1 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Roughers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Avery Browning made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chris Daniels, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylin Blue, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
