Soccer Recap: La Porte vs. Portage
La Porte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Portage Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Slicers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
La Porte's loss dropped their record down to 1-11-1. As for Portage, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Porte will head out to challenge Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenn is coming into the game with five straight victories at home, so La Porte will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Portage, they are on the road again on Thursday to play Merrillville at 5:00 p.m. Portage knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Merrillville likes a good challenge.
