Preview: Olympic Trojans vs. Butler Bulldogs
The Olympic Trojans will face off against the Butler Bulldogs at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Olympic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Butler is ranked 102nd).
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact Olympic proved last Friday. They strolled past Palisades with points to spare, taking the game 51-33.
Olympic can attribute much of their success to Chai James, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Barri Terry, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. James hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 11 straight games.
Butler suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. Their rough 58-36 defeat to Charlotte Catholic might stick with them for a while. It was the first time this season that Butler let down their fans at home.
Olympic's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. As for Butler, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4.
Olympic was taken down by Butler 67-18 in their previous meeting back in November of 2015. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Olympic was down 34-10.
