Basketball Game Preview: Box Elder Bees vs. Viewmont Vikings

Box Elder hasn't had much luck against Viewmont recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Box Elder Bees will venture away from home to square off against the Viewmont Vikings at 5:15 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, Box Elder opened the new year with a less-than-successful 57-48 loss to Woods Cross. The Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Viewmont also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Bountiful by a score of 63-50. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the RedHawks recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Box Elder will need focus on slowing down Mara Mickelson, one of several Viewmont players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Mickelson has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mary Carr, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points along with six boards and three blocks.

Box Elder's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Viewmont, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Box Elder skirted past Viewmont 47-45 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Does Box Elder have another victory up their sleeve, or will Viewmont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
