Baseball Recap: Central Noble's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Central Noble ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Lakewood Park Christian Panthers. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Treyton Fletcher made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Parker Boots was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brody Morgan, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Central Noble's record now sits at 5-12. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Central Noble will head out to face off against Eastside at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they will welcome Adams Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
