Football Game Preview: Linden-McKinley Panthers vs. Whetstone Braves

The Linden-McKinley Panthers will face off against the Whetstone Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Linden-McKinley will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

It was a proper cat-fight when Linden-McKinley took on Grandview Heights on Friday. The Panthers secured a 19-13 W over the Bobcats.

Linden-McKinley found their leader in sophomore Davell Brock, who rushed for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry. Brock really tore up the turf during one magnificent 99-yard run. Another big playmaker for Linden-McKinley was Emmanuel Towns, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Whetstone ended up a good deal behind East on Friday and lost 29-12. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Tigers are ranked 233rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Whetstone and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Linden-McKinley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Everything came up roses for Linden-McKinley against Whetstone in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 38-10 win. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
