Baseball Game Preview: Shadow Hills Knights vs. Carter Lions

The Shadow Hills Knights will take on the Carter Lions in a tournament on Wednesday. Shadow Hills hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

On Monday, Shadow Hills needed a bit of extra time to put away Upland. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Highlanders/Scots 2-1.

Alex Arizaga was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Ernesto Ibarra was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Carter wound up with the same score they had in their last game (10-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Carter saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Uribe, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Shadow Hills' victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4. As for Carter, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Shadow Hills took their win against Carter in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 11-2. Will Shadow Hills repeat their success, or does Carter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
