Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Cholla

Cholla put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 16-1 margin over the Maricopa Rams.

Hector Silvain made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Silvain was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, Carlos Alvarez was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Jesus Martinez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Cholla was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Cholla's record now sits at 3-0. As for Maricopa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cholla will square off against Flowing Wells at 4:00 p.m. on March 13th. As for Maricopa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain Pointe at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Maricopa has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
