Baseball Recap: Leo Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Leo barely beat Bluffton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions blew past the Tigers 13-3 on Thursday. Considering the Lions have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Landon Slattery spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Grant Robinson was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Dominic Rennecker was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Leo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bluffton only posted an OBP of .375.

Leo pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bluffton, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

When Leo and Bluffton next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose.
