Markus Jones was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Michael Stauffer was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one triple.
Catasauqua came out on top against Louis E. Dieruff on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Rough Riders took their contest against the Huskies 12-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rough Riders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Lynkan Moore, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Catasauqua: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-16 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Asael Gonzalez, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Catasauqua was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Salisbury Township's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Catasauqua, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-17.
Catasauqua's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Salisbury Township has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. It's a different story for Catasauqua, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Salisbury Township's hitters?
