Montesano fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Puyallup on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 6-5. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Montesano saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Stanfield, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. Stanfield has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played.

Montesano's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-1. As for Puyallup, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montesano will welcome Tenino at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Puyallup, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spanaway Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Sentinels at the right time seeing as the Sentinels are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
