Softball Preview: Roby Lions vs. Hermleigh Cardinals

Roby hasn't had much luck against Hermleigh recently, but that could start to change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Roby Lions duke it out with Hermleigh Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Roby is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.9 runs per game this season.

Roby will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs back in March, then bounced right back against Sweetwater on Tuesday. The Lions walked away with a 10-5 win over the Mustangs.

Roby got a big performance out of Calie Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Hernandez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Abigail Carlile also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Roby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .895. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Hermleigh had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. They never let the Wolves get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory.
