Recap: Candlelight Christian Academy Flames vs. Faith Christian Academy Falcons
The Candlelight Christian Academy Flames had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They really took it to Faith Christian Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-15 win at home. That 41 points margin sets a new team best for Candlelight Christian Academy this season.
Dominick Doers was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Alejandro Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Candlelight Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Faith Christian Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Candlelight Christian Academy will challenge Classical Christian School for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Faith Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Hillsborough Baptist at 4:30 p.m. on January 18th.
