Basketball Recap: Waupun Piles Up the Points Against Winneconne

Waupun was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Winneconne on Tuesday. The Waupun Warriors claimed a resounding 72-31 win over the Winneconne Wolves. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Wolves are ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Waupun has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Winneconne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waupun will take on Berlin at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Berlin will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Waupun surely won't give up without a fight. As for Winneconne, they will square off against Ripon at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Winneconne is facing Ripon at the right time seeing as Ripon is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
