Volleyball Recap: Cypress Creek's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Cypress Creek and Horizon squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Cypress Creek had to settle for second. They came up short against the Hawks, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bears have suffered since March 11th.

Leading Horizon to victory were Jonathan Nogueira and Ian Oliveira. Nogueira had ten digs and two assists, while Oliveira had nine digs, three aces, and one block. Oliveira has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 17 times he's played.

With the defeat, Cypress Creek broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-4. As for Horizon, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Cypress Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Horizon, they will face off against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
