Softball Recap: North Lamar Comes Up Short

North Lamar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to the Hughes Springs Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

North Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Hughes Springs, the victory (which was their 20th in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

Coming up, North Lamar will challenge Caddo Mills at 7:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Hughes Springs, they will square off against Atlanta at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rabbits have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
