Softball Recap: Archbishop Mitty Gets the Win

Archbishop Mitty never let their opponents score on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the California Grizzlies 1-0. The Monarchs haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Kyleigh Mace, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep California off the board. Mace has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Mitty's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Archbishop Mitty's win bumped their record up to 9-2-1. As for California, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

Archbishop Mitty didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-0 loss against Liberty on the 11th. As for California, they will face off against Freedom at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
