Softball Recap: Los Molinos Starts Season with Win on the Road

Los Molinos had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 15-3 margin over the Willows Honkers. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 14-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Addison Jones made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jayci Wilson and Karina Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Garcia scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, Garcia posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Zoey Zdeb was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Los Molinos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Willows only posted an OBP of .286.

Looking ahead, Los Molinos will square off against Esparto at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Willows, they will face off against Oroville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
