Maddie Binnie made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Escondido Charter got the win against Francis Parker on Thursday by a conclusive 12-1. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.
Lilly Harper made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Selena Salas, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adriana Martino, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Escondido Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Santa Fe Christian, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Santa Fe Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Escondido Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
