Pleasant Grove picks up fifth straight win at home

There's no place like home for the Pleasant Grove Vikings, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 54-49 W over Farmington on Thursday. Given Pleasant Grove's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Farmington is ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pleasant Grove's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Newman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tabi Clark, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.

Pleasant Grove's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Pleasant Grove will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lone Peak at 6:00 p.m. As for Farmington, they will head out on the road to face off against Weber at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Weber has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
