Softball Recap: Goodrich Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Goodrich got themselves on the board against North Branch on Saturday, but North Branch never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Broncos. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 on May 10th.

Samantha Hiller looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alisyn Raether, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ayannah Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Goodrich has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for North Branch, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Looking ahead, Goodrich will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lake Orion at 4:30 p.m. North Branch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
