Softball Game Preview: Southern Alamance Patriots vs. Western Alamance Warriors

The Southern Alamance Patriots will venture away from home to face off against the Western Alamance Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Southern Alamance is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Eastern Alamance on Friday. They fell 6-1 to the Eagles. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Western Alamance, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Person on Friday as Western Alamance made off with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Warriors have won five games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Addison Beal's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bayleigh Burris was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Skylar Martin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Western Alamance was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Western Alamance back to even at 6-6. As for Southern Alamance, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-6.

Southern Alamance beat Western Alamance 11-7 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Does Southern Alamance have another victory up their sleeve, or will Western Alamance turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
