Preview: Meadow Bridge Wildcats vs. Montcalm Generals
Meadow Bridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Montcalm Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Meadow Bridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Meadow Bridge didn't have too much trouble with Sherman at home as they won 56-37. The win was just what Meadow Bridge needed coming off of a 59-31 loss in their prior match.
Meadow Bridge relied on the efforts of Kierston Rozell, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Charity Reichard, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Reichard also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Lily Hayes, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Montcalm's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 65-11 defeat at the hands of James Monroe. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Montcalm has scored all season.
Meadow Bridge has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Montcalm, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8.
Everything went Meadow Bridge's way against Montcalm in their previous meeting two weeks ago as Meadow Bridge made off with a 51-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meadow Bridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
