Baseball Recap: Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North Wins Going Away Against Friendly

After only one run in their last contest, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North made sure to put some runs up on the board against Friendly on Wednesday. The Tigers blew past the Patriots 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Calvin Brown Jr was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and one double. He has become a key player for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carlos Grenados, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Cole Williams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.
