Berry took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the North Mecklenburg Vikings as the Berry Cardinals made off with a 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

While Berry won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-12, 25-13.

Ricky Bumbre was the offensive standout of the matchup as he had four aces.

Bumbre wasn't the only good server: Berry was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They served four more aces than North Mecklenburg's also-impressive total of ten.

Looking ahead, Berry will be playing at home against Ardrey Kell at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ardrey Kell will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Berry surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Mecklenburg, they will venture away from home to face off against Christ the King at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th.
