Football Game Preview: Garner Trojans vs. South Garner Titans + How To Watch

The Garner Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the South Garner Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Garner is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Cleveland just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 49-28. The game was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Trojans couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, South Garner played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 42-7 loss at the hands of Clayton. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost five in a row.

Garner will have to contain Alijah Clarke as he made an impact in South Garner's last game. He rushed for 156 yards and one touchdown. Clarke's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards.

Garner's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for South Garner, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Garner strolled past South Garner in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a score of 26-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
