Beatty moved up to 303 from 342 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Lakeland. The Rangers climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Brandywine 35-12.
Buchanan lost to Mendon 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Doug Freeman was a bright spot for the Bucks, as he ran for 83 yards in the defeat.
Beatty's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Vashaun Morgan threw for 57 yards and Trevon Brown had 34 yards receiving. On the ground Brown chipped in 132 yards. Marquise Curtis helped Beatty's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 23 yards.
Dan Purlee's team's dynamic duo of Morgan and Brown proved tough for the Bobcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Curtis helped Beatty's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 23 yards.
Brown provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Rangers defeated Brandywine.
Thanks to the talents of Alex Leiter and Freeman, Buchanan has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Leiter is tops in the league in passing with 411 yards, while Freeman has rushed for 1,091 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Beatty's Tymari Brown, with 146 yards on 6 catches.
The Rangers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,122 from 9,115. The improvement was the result of a 35-12 victory over Mike Nate's team last week.
