East Central entered their tilt with Rushville on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 4-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 on Thursday.

Hayden Bear got the start for East Central and what a start it was: he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bear has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, East Central's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brent Merk, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Those two hits gave Merk a new career-high.

East Central's record now sits at 9-3. As for Rushville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

East Central has already played their next game, an 8-3 win against New Palestine on the 2nd. As for Rushville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-5 victory against South Ripley on the 2nd.
