Soccer Recap: Coconino Takes a Loss

Coconino fell victim to Casteel and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Casteel Colts, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Colts are ranked first).

Coconino's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Casteel, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.

Looking ahead, Coconino will be playing at home against ALA - Gilbert North at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th. ALA - Gilbert North's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Casteel, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Salpointe Catholic on the 13th.
