Capital took a 15-run defeat the last time they faced off against Sentinel, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bruins skirted past the Spartans 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bruins have posted since May 26, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Madi Emmert, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Miller, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Capital's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Sentinel, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Capital will head out to take on Great Falls at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sentinel, they will venture away from home to challenge Big Sky at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
