Wolcott suffers sixth straight loss on the road

The Wolcott Eagles were the 67-51 winner over the Woodland Regional Hawks when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Wolcott took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodland Regional on Friday. Wolcott has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Woodland Regional's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ethan Stepputtis led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten rebounds and ten assists. Stepputtis has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. John Napiello was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

Wolcott bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Woodland Regional, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wolcott will take on Wilby at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Wilby's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Woodland Regional, they will head out on the road to take on Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Seymour is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
