Football Recap: Mclaughlin Falls to Lake Minneola in First Game of Season

McLaughlin had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 37-0 loss at the hands of the Lake Minneola Hawks.

Lake Minneola got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Montero out in front who rushed for 66 yards and one touchdown on only five carries, and also threw for 124 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 passes. Damarius Johnson was in the mix as well, providing the Hawks with two scores.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McLaughlin will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Joshua Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Lake Minneola, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vanguard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
