Lakewood Ranch and Manatee squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lakewood Ranch had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Manatee Hurricanes by a score of 39-36. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manatee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayla Simon, who posted 19 points. That's the most points Simon has posted since back in December of 2024. Justine Wilson was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Lakewood Ranch's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for Manatee, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-9.

As of now, neither Lakewood Ranch nor Manatee have any future games scheduled.
