Softball Recap: Florin Panthers vs. Burbank Titans
Florin extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-10 in the process. They came up short against the Burbank Titans, falling 22-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
As for Burbank, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
For Burbank's part, ANDREA CERVANTES was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. CERVANTES was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, VAITUOLO (SUKA) FINAU was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four stolen bases, two triples, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was GABRIELA CHACON, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
