If Master's Academy was feeling good fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Master's Academy Patriots fell just short of the Morningside Academy Eagles by a score of 10-9 on Monday. The Patriots' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Elyanah DeCosta was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gia Gasbarro, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Master's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Morningside Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Master's Academy will host Calvary Chapel Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Morningside Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morningside Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.9 runs per game this season.
