Baseball Game Preview: Skyline Falcons vs. Centaurus Warriors

The Skyline Falcons will face off against the Centaurus Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Skyline nor Centaurus posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Skyline easily dispatched Montbello on Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Falcons fell just short of Horizon by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Skyline saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Lanier, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Meanwhile, Centaurus came up short against Legacy on Tuesday, falling 15-2.

Centaurus now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Skyline has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Centaurus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Everything went Skyline's way against Centaurus when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Skyline made off with a 12-6 victory. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
