Baseball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield fell victim to Albia and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Blue Demons, falling 22-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

Fairfield now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Albia, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield will venture away from home to square off against Fort Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Albia, they will head out to face off against Cardinal at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Demons 3.4, the Comets 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
