We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Snook Christian Academy will be up against a hot Jackson Academy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went Jackson Academy's way against Sparta Academy on Tuesday as Jackson Academy made off with a 15-3 win.
Jackson Academy let Jacob Jones and Huntley Dees run wild. Jones scored three runs while going 2-for-2, while Dees scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Jordan, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Jackson Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Snook Christian Academy never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past Atmore Christian 19-0. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Ethan Parker made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Snook Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Rubel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Snook Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Aaron Ashley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Jackson Academy pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Snook Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Jackson Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .521. However, it's not like Snook Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jackson Academy took their victory against Snook Christian Academy in their previous meeting on Saturday by a conclusive 16-5. Will Jackson Academy repeat their success, or does Snook Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
