Marion Center posted their closest victory since September 4th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Northern Cambria Colts 3-2. This was payback for the Stingers, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Marion Center took Northern Cambria into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Northern Cambria saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sophia Fry had 20 digs and seven assists. Fry has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddie Work, who had five digs and three aces.

The win made it two in a row for Marion Center and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Northern Cambria, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5-1.

Coming up, Marion Center is taking a road trip to square off against Conemaugh Township at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northern Cambria, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Central Cambria on the 24th.
